This is what runs through my mind on Sunday…

January 17, 2010

I have cabin fever. But I don’t have any particular place I want to go.
I’m excited about my new Rebel. So excited.

I’m equally excited about all the rain that is supposedly headed our way. I apologize if our rain turns into your snow, since snow is not so fun in my book.

Every weekend I say that I want a lazy Sunday at home. Every Sunday I say I want to get out of the house. So typical of me.

Have you seen “The Strangers” with Liv Tyler? It’s kind of weird, and a little bit why I don’t open the door to strangers, not that I’m paranoid or anything, because I’m not.

Is football on at your house today like it is at mine?

What’s up with sequined jean back pockets?

Car: Eggplant-coloredCadillac CTS. Plate: B4 IDIE. Before you die what?

This is my blogging view. What’s yours?
And you see that two-story house across the street? It reminds me of a cuckoo clock. Of course we live in the same model, but the exterior is different so we don’t sport the cuckoo look.
I saw a couple carry their 1-year-old baby to their truck. The guy was holding the carseat and the woman was holding the baby. I figured that they were divvying up the awkward weight between the 2 of them. They were not. The guy threw the carseat in the truck bed and the woman put the baby on the bench seat between the two of them. I know carseats weren’t always the norm, or the law, but who does that this day in age?

There’s nothing as funny as another person’s economies. My great-grandmother used to say that. It’s so true.
And that’s a view of me blogging. In peace.
I’ll be so happy when the cough-runny nose issues leave my house.
I was listening to the radio this week and the reporter in Haiti was overcome with emotion at the sight of an injured little girl covered in bandages and little else. A commenter later wrote in that they were appalled that the reporter let his emotions show. Sure, reporters are supposed to keep the “I” out of journalism, but reporters are humans, not robots. I was appalled at the comment.
I want a record player. I love the scratchy depth sound of albums.
Well, (a deep thought for such a shallow mind in the humorous words of Grandma E.K.) I suppose those are all of my thoughts for this Sunday. Have a lovely week!

Would have been more exciting if the couple threw the baby in the trunk bed.

Car seat laws are so strict here! 5 point harness in the back seat (no babies in pickups!) Until age 4/40lbs/40inches, whichever comes LAST. Booster until 54 inches or age 8, whichever comes first. No front seats until age 12 or 60 inches.

My mother in law is so short, she's not really allowed up front!!
But of course anything goes once you hit 16.

-Great post! First of all, love the picture of ya Miss Lizzi 🙂
-I have cabin fever too with nowhere to go. I just want to GO. Drive somewhere. Maybe I should drive to your house and you should drive to mine and we can meet in the middle in a day or so.
-I'm excited about your new Rebel! And please don't let your rain become my bizarre TX snow. Keep it to yourself please 😉
-Every Sunday is a lazy Sunday at my house. We never even get dressed. Its sports and laundry and me making every damn meal and …..
-I did see The Strangers and it totally freaked me out. Shit like that really happens. I hated that movie and loved it at the same time.
    -Yes. Football is on.
-I haven't seen jeans with sequins yet. I'm so fashion behind lately.
-They had to get the (purple) Cadillac before they died.
-It does look like a cuckoo clock. You wait for something to come out of that window every day at noon don't you? 🙂
-Totally bizarre with the kid in the truck. Who DOES that?! What is wrong with people.. and speaking of wrong people that was rude what that commenter said about the reporter. I swear to god there is always someone you won't please in this world.
-I have a record player. I haven't thought of that thing in YEARS. Time to get out my mom's records….thanks for the reminder.
-Love the quotes from your Grandmas….. those are so true.

I heard that same reporter! I know reports are supposed to keep their emotions in check. But when a seasoned reporter loses it, that's saying something. That just emphasized to me how bad the situation is in Haiti and made it much more real.

Great post!! And love the pic of you 🙂

Football was on our tv all weekend long.

The Strangers was a very freaky movie. Those are the kinds of movies that actually scare me a little…when I think it could really happen.

I know what you mean. It's like those rare days where I declare that I'm not doing a thing and I'm staying in my pjs, etc. Yeah, that never happens like I plan.

I hope the rain stays rain in OK and doesn't become snow. I'm so tired of snow.

My grandma tries to get me into clothes with embellishments like sequins or jewels.

    Lovely blogging view.

Maybe the Cadillac is something they wanted before they die? Or they're starting to think about their bucket list?

Did this same reporter criticize Cronkite for showing emotion when Kennedy died (or was it man on the moon?)? I think very few people could see that scene firsthand and not be disturbed.

    Yay for record players!

Love the post and the picture of you!! The whole baby thing…wow! I'm sure the laws in AZ are as strict as everywhere else, just not something most people do anymore. Well responsible people anyway. We need to bring emotion back! I think it desensitizes us to have our news delivered in such a cold, unfeeling way. It's horrible, admit it.

We will be having snow most of the week. Enjoy the rain. :o)
