This is what runs through my mind on Sunday…

January 25, 2010

It’s Sunday night and I have loads and loads of laundry ahead of me. I’m not looking forward to it, but I do love warm clothes.
I was up way too late last night redoing my blog look (because you know, I have nothing else better to do while everyone is asleep.) Anyway, I was watching Saturday Night Live and I realized I knew very few cast members. I felt a little old. And then when I was watching Jack LaLanne and his juicer I wondered how I had gone so long not owning one. Maybe if we had one I’d actually like juice. Or maybe not.
The weather has cleared, our tree is standing upright again, the mountains in the distance are covered with snow…things are looking good!

I feel blessed and calm.
Sometimes it’s hard not to be judgmental. But on the flip side we are all in each other’s lives for a reason.
“Once, on this earth, once, on this familiar spot of ground, walked other men and women, as actual as we are today, thinking their own thoughts, swayed by their own passions, but now all gone, one generation vanishing after another, gone as utterly as we ourselves shall shortly be gone like ghosts at cockrow.” –G.M. Trevelyan, An Autobiography and Other Essays– When I read this all my worries; my desires; needs; and goals are put into perspective.
How far would you go to help someone?
It would be so nice if blogger had more font options. Are you reading this Blogger? More font options!!
What’s the draw to Elmo? I personally like Grover.
This time of year when the clouds sweep across the valley, I love my state.

I’m getting excited about our upcoming trip to Vegas to visit my parents.
What is it with dogs and dirty diapers? I came home this week to the upstairs littered with dirty diapers. Said diapers were in a diaper champ, in a closed closet, behind closed doors. That was one afternoon I could have used the house fairy big time.
We saw my sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s puppy Maddy today. I keep reminding myself that I positively don’t want a puppy. My heart says yes, my brain screams no.
I’m getting antsy for baseball to start. Are you?
The blues are the perfect music for a Sunday night.
I hope your weekend was good and I hope your week ahead is great!

Love the new look! I had a mountain of laundry yesterday morning (5 fully grown people, one of whom is a teenaged girl, make way too much laundry!). I've spent the whole weekend washing, drying, folding, ironing and putting laundry away. At least it's almost done. For 24 hours anyway!

Love your new blog look! I just re-did mine too!
I've been eyeing juicers too; but would probably just wind up as something else in the cabinet!
    Glad the weather is better!
    Love the picture!
    Have a great week Lizzi!

The pictures are beautiful!!! I like Elmo best, but I also love Grover and Cookie Monster. (I can relate to Cookie most, hehe) The grandbaby got an Elmo for Christmas and its weird and adorable (he moves and talks).

    Love your new blog look!

What a beautiful quote! It definitely puts things in perspective.

I like Cookie Monster…or at least I did before parents got tired of teaching their children proper nutrition and blamed Sesame Street for their kids guzzling down junk food and The Man changed the essence of Cookie Monster. Poor guy! All he wants are some cookies.

I've been antsy for baseball to start since November 5.

    Have a happy week!

Thank you, I'm not the only one. I watch SNL a few weeks ago and didn't recognize very many cast members either. And I wasn't connecting with the humor, so I felt really old.

I have never watched SNL… can you believe that? But I did watch In Living Color. Remember that one?

Great question…. How far would you go to help someone….

Jake and I are so antsy for baseball to start that we made a paperchain that doubles as a calendar. Every loop has a date written on it from now (well, then when we started it) to April 5th when the Phillies play their first game. Each morning he rips a loop down

All the "regular" days are on white paper and family birthdays and holidays are on red paper. The chain is soooooooo long. It goes all the way up the stairs. With loops.
