As I was cleaning house this weekend, preparing for company, I took a break and got down my copy of our family history book, Beach Family Reminiscences and Annals, to read the Thanksgiving poem written by my Great-Great-Great-Grandmother (composed on the day she gave birth to her firstborn, no less.) It reminds me that although we may not have all that we would like, we have all that we need, and most importantly, we have each other.

I love this. Thanks for sharing it. I wish I would have had the state of mind to write such a lovely poem on the day I had my child, but looking back I don’t think it would have been likely.
