Sunday, Sunday

November 20, 2016

I used to dread Sundays.

I’d experience the Sunday Blues. All. Day. Long.

Happily, I’m at a place in my life where Sunday is a day of relaxation and rest.

Mental. Emotional. Physical.

Morning In the Fields

There are hay fields behind us.

I love the little pockets of country where we live.

This morning I woke up to the sound of tractors and the smell of hay and dirt.

I always wonder if they see me peeking over the back wall.

Sunday Waffles

Waffles are on the menu Sunday mornings.

Usually Beau searches the internet for a recipe and heads up this project.

Lately Shane has been our chef.

I’m more than happy to (usually) sit back and enjoy the show.

Mom's Maple Syrup

It wasn’t until waffles were done that I realized I had forgotten to get more syrup at the store.

I had to pull out my stash of pure Canadian maple syrup.

The stash I was saving for homemade pecan pie this week.

You should have seen how sparingly I poured it over Beaus’ waffle.

Sami Girl

When there is food involved you are sure to find Sami nearby.

No meal prep would be complete without her lurking, waiting for something to drop.

She hasn’t yet realized barking won’t get her anywhere.

Nor will sad puppy eyes.

Monkey the Dog

And Monkey spends his days being Monkey – always a blur.

When we got him, his notes said he was slightly depressed.

I’m happy to report he is no longer slightly depressed.

He is usually running and hopping all over the place, trying to sneak a shoe off somewhere.

Head Shot

It has been 6 months since I’ve picked up my camera.

As soon as I got it out Beau wanted to play photographer and I finally relented.

Then he wanted some headshots.  For what, I don’t know.

The “don’t move” challenge was real.

Pumpkin Smashing

Finally.

He got to smash his little pumpkin.

I thought about making homemade pumpkin pie with it.

But let’s be honest, Libby’s does a pretty good job.

Legos Everywhere

These LEGOs have finally come in handy.

Beau has never been into them, but our little neighbor boy is.

Whenever he comes over these get poured all over the kitchen table.

The stories he creates around his creations and characters are so cute!

Football Sunday

You can’t have a Sunday without Football.

Both of our teams won yesterday.

Today is a different story.

I suppose 2 out of 3 isn’t so bad.

♥

And onward into the week we go!
