Red Flip Flops & Other Thoughts on A Thursday Night

June 17, 2011

This world of blogs that we are a part of makes me so happy sometimes.  I was able to connect two people, across the country, in the hopes that they can help and support each other.  Big smile.

Red flip flops = summer

And speaking of summer, I’m simply not ready for 109 degrees.red flip flops

This time tomorrow I’ll be enjoying the Diamondbacks take on the White Sox.  I haven’t been to a game in ages…long overdue.

It’s amazing how there is no correlation between age and maturity level in certain people.

It’s also amazing how many iCarly episodes I have seen.  And how much I laugh at Gibby.

Have there been firework tents set up for nearly a month already in your town?

I completely forgot to give myself a pedicure tonight.  How do you forget something like that?

Someone please tell me not to cut my hair. I was >this< close to cutting bangs.

Simplicity lets creativity flow.

Between fires here and flooding back in Iowa and so many other places, it makes me wonder what else is in store for us.

I’m officially turning into my grandma.  I’m quite concerned – not because she isn’t great, but because she’s 94.  I’m saving the “nice”-made-from-real-plastic-take-out containers.  They are the perfect size for leftover pizza and for taking salad to work.  I’m not the only one who does this right?

Since I’ll be rooting for the home team tomorrow night, here’s wishing you a happy weekend!

LOL These kinds of posts crack me up. I love random tid-bits of insight into people’s lives. I love blogging for the same reason you mentioned…meeting people and finding encouragement through others who you’ve never “really” met is awesome. And I’m right there with you on wondering what else is in store for us with all of the freakish weather we’ve had lately. It’s scary. Hope you have a great weekend!

These are my favorite types of posts to do, Courtney. It’s fun to look back and see what random things I was thinking about at a certain time.

Here’s our weather update… 116 degrees tomorrow! How are you faring in Alaska?

Don’t worry, I save those containers too. I think I even make an “ooh!” sound when I see that a restaurant has them. Hey! Tupperwear is expensive and my husband leaves it at work for WEEKS and then brings it home with all kinds of crazy, fuzzy mold in a rainbow of colors. I don’t feel as bad when I throw it away instead of attempting to wash the yuck away. My mom brought me over some awesome nike flip flops wednesday night. It totally made my nite.

There is a restaurant near us that has the best take-out containers. Ordering dinner to go is a double bonus there. Especially since it seems my paid-for containers seem to separate themselves from the lids.

Rachel – Today I was wondering why I live here! I don’t know what the official temp was, but my car said 117 on the way home…and then it cooled of to 111. This is the time of year I need to be reminded of our lovely winters! 🙂

    Hi Lizzie!
I agree with everyone, these random thought posts are so fun. You’ve got me thinking of writing a summery list when after I read what you wrote about red flip flops=summer. I’m ready for a new random post from you!

Hey, by the way, I love playing Words with Friends with you….it’s hindering our blogging time, though, don’tcha think? funny!

    Em
