“Ask the people you meet about their passion, what they enjoy or how they made a difference today, instead of just asking about their job, where they live and what their marital status is.” Mara recently posted this tip she had gotten from a friend. She asked her readers to answer the questions, so here are mine. And if you read this, I’d like to know about you…
I am passionate about beauty. Not the make-up kind of beauty, but the beauty of everyday things that life has to offer. I am passionate about seeing the good in others. I’m not naive but everyone has a story and that story can be very telling. I’m passionate about encouraging reading. I am passionate about family. I am passionate about history. I am passionate about peoples’ histories. We all have a history, a story, our own, or one that has been passed down. I am passionate about learning; learning in a classroom, learning in life. Never stop learning. I am passionate about being in the present. I am passionate about strong ties and strong friendships. I am passionate about leaving a good name.

Joy is laughter. It is laughter with your child, with your partner, with your friends. It is laughing until you have tears running down your cheeks and sore muscles. Joy is watching my boy dance while I sing off key. Joy is late-night talks. Joy is being in my kitchen, with the music on, cooking for my family and friends. Joy is capturing life with my lens. Joy is smiling a big old smile and making someone else do the same. Joy is knowing that I’m part of something larger than myself.
I give open ears and open heart. I give myself…listening, helping, commiserating, sharing, empathizing. I like to think that my sincere questions and compliments and understanding are my do-gooder work for now.

This is just wonderful and worth putting thought into for our own posts.
