I’m so glad you’re here!  I started this blog in 2008 with the intentions of keeping our scattered families updated on our happenings.  Now it’s less about my family and more about me; it’s my creative journal, photo album, and running commentary on life as I know it.   I believe that life really is sweet.  Through our ups and downs there is a little bit of sweetness at the end of each day, even if sometimes it’s only fresh sheets on a newly made bed.

A little randomness about me, in no order…

♦ I love Diet Coke, Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi, and Diet Dr. Pepper…way, way more than I should.

♦ I’m closer to 40 than 20 but I still feel like I’m 23.

♦ I live in Arizona, went to college in Iowa (go Cyclones!) but will always call the Bay Area home.

♦ My 4-year-old son Beau never ceases to amaze me. Although most days I have a hard time believing that I’m actually someone’s mom.

♦ I still want to be Nancy Drew when I grow up. And I still love Scooby Doo.

♦ I named my camera Daisy. She is with me 98% of the time. I’m the crazy lady taking photos in the produce department.

♦ I dream of having a Viking kitchen one day.

♦ I love The Office, Bones, and Medium.   I also find myself tuning in to Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Jersey Shore.  I guess we all have to have our guilty pleasures, right?

♦ I live in the desert. I like it, love it, I hate it. It depends on my mood. And the temperature.

♦ Tom Paine is my hero.

♦ I knew I was going to marry my husband Shane on our first date.  I called home from the restaurant bathroom to tell my parents.

♦ We have 1 dog named Sami. I think most days she lives to drive me up a wall.

♦ I try to live by “This too shall pass…” and “Stay Calm and Carry On.”  It’s not always easy.
