Sundays in our house…showers are optional, laundry is mandatory, chocolate cookies prevail.
I’ve been feeling energized lately. At work. At home. It’s borderline amazing. So much so that I may have to break out the iPod and dust off the treadmill.
We went to Costco for laundry detergent and walked out with a new rice cooker/steamer. I think I’m in love.
So remember how I got a new camera a little bit ago? Well now I barely pick it up. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a zillion degrees outside, I’m in a rut, or what. Whatever it is I’m forcing my way out of it.
I’d love to outsource potty training.
My laundry room is clean for the first time in almost forever…it almost makes me want to do laundry.
The older I get the more I believe that family is what you make it. Whatever that may be.
Hooray for me…almost 4 PM and I’ve only had one soda. Almost a miracle. Seriously, diet anything is my crack.
It’s that time of year again – the cotton crops are starting to sprout up. I love seeing the rows of green grow taller and taller overnight.
Have any of you ever sold gold before? I have some pieces that I’m never going to wear, hold no sentimental value, and are collecting dust in my jewelry bag. I keep wondering how much I could get for the gold.
I need to lessen my expectations for weekends. When I do they seem to last so much longer.
Before Beau I didn’t have any vision of what I thought parenthood would entail. However, I didn’t plan on it involving riding bikes in the living room. Such is life.
How is your weekend? I hope it’s all sorts of fun and loveliness.

Hi Lizzi…I also treated myself to a rice cooker about a year ago and I love it. Put the rice in before you start anything else, push the button and let it go. It is awesome! I always burned the rice that had to be cooked in the pot. I know you will enjoy using yours, too.
i’m glad you have some energy back, and yes, I do agree, when the laundry room is tidy, it makes doing loads of dirty clothes almost enjoyable. Satisfying. Enjoy.

I agree with you on letting go of weekend expectations. Things seem to slow down that way. We are usually pretty chill around here when we have a full weekend to relax. I get in ruts with photography, too. Sometimes I push myself through it…and others I just wait until the desire comes back. Hope you have a great week this week!

I know what you mean about lowering expectations and reaping more rewards! I had major cleaning plans for yesterday and I hardly got anything done. I felt so sluggish and lazy, so I abandoned project. Regardless, it sounds like you had a lovely Sunday. I hope the rest of the week goes well for you! I’ve missed talking to you. Can’t wait to catch up.

Funny you should mention outsourcing potty training. My son’s girlfriend is sending her little guy (age 3) to a nursery school, starting today, where they potty train them for you. Where was this service when I needed it?
I trained Ben by taking all his clothes off for an entire day and bringing him in to the bathroom every 30 mins. By the end of the day he was completely trained for peeing, and a few days later he was diaper free except for nights. Obviously I did it on the weekend so I could do nothing but bring him into the bathroom!

Great weekend photo! Pretty much sums it up 🙂 I’ve sold my gold I don’t want anymore and got about $800….. and I read the price of gold is even higher now!

I doubt having your son’s favorite toy be a vacuum was in your parenting plans, either! That’s one of the great things about being a parent–there is a surprise around every corner. Luckily so many of them are great because some of them really suck!

potty training is pretty much the worst thing I’ve ever been through. I tried to do everything on his schedule, and make it stress free and whatever, but it was awful. There were lots of tears on his end and mine!
rice cookers are awesome! I want the one you have, I bought a cheapy one just to see if I’d ever use it (I do!) and I think I wore it out. Time for an upgrade. I hear there is one that is a rice cooker/steamer/crock pot. That would be awesome.
I sold some gold once, and got a hundred dollars or so. I brought in all the little gold charms I got in high school, jewelry from ex-boyfriends, and broken pieces. They didn’t take all of it, and some of the stuff that was stamped 14K and 24K wasn’t even gold at all! they wouldn’t take that stuff. I was embarrassed, but they said it happens all the time.

Showers optional…I love that, so is doing my hair and makeup. I also pray that no one knocks on my door. Reminds me once again of The Lazy Song…I swear it’s my theme song for the weekends.
