Exhaustion is slowly leaving my body. Last week was one of those weeks. I’m hoping the departure of exhaustion coincides with the arrival of motivation. Motivation to do anything! Even simply cook dinner!
My new camera arrived! Remember when you were a kid, looking forward to something exciting, and your parents told you to go to sleep early and Santa Claus, birthday, Disneyland… would get there faster? I actually told myself that last week in anticipation of my lovely new toy’s arrival. (It doesn’t hurt that I was truly ready for bed at 7PM)
Did you read Highlights as a kid? I loved it. Beau is slowly starting to love it. Mostly right now he’s loving his new huge puppet snake. Seriously, it’s probably 6 feet long.
I’ve been so out of sorts it’s not even funny. I have no idea where my head is.
I love my book group. We just finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Series (I admit I’m only 11% done with book 3) and now we’re on to Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother. How’s that for variety?
What happened to recess after lunch?
How was your Easter? Ours consisted of the obligatory chocolate bunny, jelly beans, eggs, dyeing, hunting, and too much food. Throw in some butterflies, swimming, and sunning for good measure. And yours truly is pinker than pink today.
It’s funny the things that you make a way to make happen. And the things you don’t. And how so often the two are reversed. Wants become shoulds and shoulds become needs, and on and on…
It’s getting hot here. I predict that this is the last week (or two) of double digit temps.
Last night Beau slept in his own room for the first time in longer than I can remember. I think we all got a good night sleep because of it. Here’s hoping to a second night…
Happy Monday and a Happy Week to you!

These words, – I’m hoping the departure of exhaustion coincides with the arrival of motivation. – say exactly how I felt a while back. Pushing oneself to sheer exhaustion does happen and it takes sometime to recover. Taking a short break , even by walking in the part to get in touch with nature and breath fresh air removes the cobwebs but there are indeed days that it would be better just to call for food delivery. Thanks for sharing.
