Beau had a half day at school today and is spending the rest of the day and evening out with his friends. I literally didn’t know what to do with myself.
Also, I volunteered in Beau’s class today during their (day after) Valentine’s Day Party. The teacher asked the kids what cupids do. One boy exclaimed in true 6th grade boy form “make love.” I really wanted to laugh. His mom, the other parent volunteer, did not.
I finished Inheritance last week after a two-day reading binge. And then I suffered the book hangover to end all book hangovers. It also has me contemplating and struggling with questions surrounding obligation. Read this book!
Beau and I saw 2Cellos perform earlier this week. AMAZING. That is all.
And I learned that just because Beau, (who is a mover) isn’t moving to the music, it doesn’t mean he’s not enjoying the show. Though I think he would have preferred some lyrics thrown in.
Also, what is better than people watching during a concert?
Right now I’m sitting in the front room. It’s a guest room/den/archive storage room/retreat. It’s pretty much my room to do whatever I please in and with. When I was young my mom’s best friend mentioned something about having her own room. I thought it was strange – she was married – how would that work, what was the point? And then I came to realize she meant her own room/den/office/retreat. At 40, I so get it. Retreat. We all need a retreat.
Right now my place of retreat isn’t looking so much like a retreat. But it is an example of how much I like the aqua/turquoise-red color combination.
What do you think about the energy things hold? Do you even think about that?
This place is opening by us. Why hasn’t someone done this sooner?
My dogs keep getting my pen cases from my desk. Like way at the back of my desk, against the wall, far from the edge. (I don’t even know how they do it.) And then they destroy them. All the while their dog toys are intact. Grr…
It has been gray and gloomy lately. And even though I like the rainy weather it has kind of thrown me. I know I shouldn’t complain since you know, we have no snow or ice, but still…
And that is all. I’m off to figure out what to do with my childless self tonight.
Happy weekend!
