Dear Mother Nature…We need water. So bad. And more than just enough to make my car dirty. Please deliver soon. Thanks. (P.S. – Enough with the dust storms already.)
Beau to me in a fit of anger when I told him the dreaded word “no”: “You’re so mean. You’re not adorable. You’re not the best mom.” Parenthood makes for such a humbling experience. On a side note, kindergarten starts in 5 weeks. I think it will be good for all of us.
Needed: A retreat. With a fruity drink. Wanted: A housekeeper. A personal Mary Poppins would be nice.
When Beau was a baby and just starting to walk I’d dance with him in the kitchen to this song, singing along. Motherhood was a challenge, money was tight, sometimes it all seemed overwhelming, and this song gave me a few minutes of hope. Four years later, motherhood is still a challenge, money either flows or is tight, work stresses me out more than I can relay, and sometimes it all seems overwhelming. But when I hear this song I can’t help but think that it’ll all be okay in the end.
Note to self… Sometimes you have to let it roll off your shoulders, erase it from your memory, and move on. It’ll eat you alive if you don’t.
“There was nowhere to go but everywhere, so just keep on rolling under the stars.” {Jack Kerouac} Love this. Love this so much.
We have to remember the silver linings. Even if we can’t always see them.
I think if your license plate reads “STN 666” your truck should be black, not white. I also wonder why you’d get that on your plate.
No better pick-me-up than red flip flops. Sometimes I think I can conquer the world in them. Pink toenail polish also helps.
I’ve found a few gray hairs at my temples this past week. I don’t feel old enough to have them.
So the neighbors are starting their 4th of July celebration early with firecrackers tonight. This means that Sami is a basket case. She is currently half on my lap, shaking like a leaf…basically on the verge of freaking out. I give it 10 minutes before she is burrowing under me. It’s going to be a long almost holiday weekend. Kinda makes me want to run away.

What’s Beau talking about? You’re always adorable.

Yes, some rain would be nice! It seems a new fire breaks out here every other day. I’m a bit worried about the holiday week. We have no rain in the forecast for the next 7 days…just hot and wind. I know I have nothing to complain about compared to your heat, but we are 10-15 degrees over normal. Bleh. Beau is funny….you’re not adorable, where did he get that one? I can’t believe he’s starting kindergarten! Hope you find something cool to do for the weekend.

I love that Jack Kerouac quote! And speaking of pick-me-ups, I think I need pink toes this week.
