I could listen to Sarah Bareilles sing “Sittin’ On The Dock of The Bay” all day long. And Emily King’s “Ain’t No Sunshine.” Better add Yael Naim’s “New Soul.” One more…John Mayer’s accoustic version of “Free Fallin’.” Okay, I’m done.
I love golden afternoons.
Thanksgiving is approaching. I am thankful. Thankful for so much…family, health, love, happiness, laughter, friends, home, and work.
I did a room switcheroo last week with Beau’s room (which was huge) and the guest room. All feels right and properly aligned now.
As dark falls and night comes early, music adds a special something to my evenings this time of year.
I was feeling anxious earlier this week and then I took a deep breath and remembered I’m not alone. Those two things made all the difference in the world.
I love coming to work on early autumn and winter mornings…the shop smells like a campfire. Now I just need some marshmallows.
This time last year I was thinking that if I had my druthers I’d be vacationing in San Francisco. I’m still thinking that. I was also wearing my red Reef flip flops which I am wearing today. Some things just don’t change.
I need more cinnamon pine cones.
Friday Night Lights is over for us until Beau plays ball, if he even plays ball. It’s kind of sad.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my friends lately. Who they are. Our history. What we share. How we’ve changed. How we’ve stayed the same. How we float in and out of each other’s lives. It’s a lot to think about on a Friday.
The first Christmas tree on our block went up last weekend. I’m still holding out. Barely. I just want my living room to be illuminated by little glittering white lights.
Shane and I have never danced together. Isn’t that crazy?
I was flipping channels this week and got stuck on a documentary about the rebirth of Le Cirque. It made me want to fly to New York to eat there. It also made me think that Egidiana Maccioni and I would be great friends…she has a thing for french fries too.
My Real Simple magazine came in the mail yesterday. After thumbing through it last night I was somewhat disappointed in it and decided that it doesn’t really do it for me anymore.
Well, this time next week Thanksgiving will have passed. I aim to blog before then, but we all know I’m sporadic except for Fridays, so I wish you all a happy weekend, and a Happy Thanksgiving if we don’t meet in the blogosphere before then.

Happy Friday! I love all the songs in your first random thought. Fabulous!
My random thought for today… I hope the fact that I'm not only counting down until I deliver this baby (just under a month) but also the number of days until I can have a glass of wine again is not indicative of me being a wino.
Have a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Congrats on your Etsy Shop! I've been thinking about friends a lot lately too. I'm also letting go of all of my mag subscriptions, except for one. Have a beautiful weekend!

Wow, that room switch sounds like a major undertaking! Glad it all feels right after all of that work.
Still working on figuring out how to make those darn cinnamon pine cones. I do have my pine cones dried now so I'm started.

I was gonna say that I think it's really surprising that you've never danced with Shane. But then I think back and the only time Nunz and I have danced is at a wedding we went to together. So, if we'd never been invited to a wedding, we would have never danced together, either! It's weird to think…
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Brad and I have never danced either, I freakin love Sara Bareilles (do you like Colbie Caillat?), and you know how much friends have been on my mind too lately….. 😉
