There’s nothing like having enough time on a Friday morning to give your toe nails a touch up coat of fire engine red polish.
I’m excited to create some Lizzi space in our guest room. The guest room we have for the guests we rarely have. A little rearranging and voila! A workspace (though a tad cramped) for me.
I thought my phone was on the slow road to cell phone death, but it spontaneously started working at 100% this afternoon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will last until January.
I know that it’s not yet Halloween, but I have the urge to put up my Christmas tree this weekend. I am restraining myself. I can hold off another month.
I love these one (or 2 or 3 or 4) in a million bright turquoise rocks in our backyard.
I’m not planning anything this weekend. I’m just going to do whatever tickles my fancy.
Plate: LDYWKD Car: Burnt orange cobalt Driver: Duh, a wicked lady. She was wearing some hot sunglasses, but I couldn’t get into the angel wings of death on her rear window. And if she’s so wicked I think she should be driving a black cobalt. But that’s just me.
I’m getting tired of moving our knife set up higher and higher in the pantry. I have a climbing monkey for a son and each obstacle is just a challenge for him.
I love that pumpkin-flavored treats are in season now.
I’m painting my kitchen table set soon. I’m tired of looking at the blah wood. No one is going to stop me. You know who you are. And I’m going to attempt to recover the cushions on the chairs. That part isn’t set in stone yet, but the paint part is.
I feel as though a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders. I’m not sure what the burden was or how I came to feel this way. I’m not asking any questions. I am just enjoying the feeling.
I have very high plant shelves in our front formal living/dining room and I need to get some things on them so I don’t just see a huge expanse of white. Any ideas? I’m open to suggestions. And I don’t want to but fake plants up there because everyone knows they’re fake.
Family is coming in from out of town next week and we are planning a visit to a nearby Greek Orthodox monastery. I went to their website today to look into it and I’m already just slightly intimidated and am worrying I’ll inadvertently break a rule. And I keep thinking about the clothing requirements for day visitors – basically total body coverage. I live in the desert I don’t own a lot of total body clothes, and by clothes I mean dresses because women can’t wear pants there. And I only own one dress, and even though it’s full length the nature of the top poses a problem, and well I’ll be thinking about what I’m going to wear (like do I own a head scarf?) all week.
I wish you a lovely weekend. So does Beau.

Lizzi space will be nice! What are you going to do in your Lizzi space? Got any plans yet?
I love that some kids are climbers and some kids play with water and some kids like to bang their head into the wall over and over…. its interesting to me what kids do at that young age. What tickles their fancies I guess!
What color are you painting the table?
I'm very excited to hear about the Greek orthodox monastery visit. Blog post please on that!!!
Have fun this weekend!

I've done the same in our spare room. I had the urge week before last to put up the Christmas tree!!! For your shelf, do you have any old books, colored vases, candle holders or a collection of like items you could put up there? I hope you all have a lovely weekend as well! (Tres beautiful photo of you and the little man btw!)

If I had plant shelves, I would buy decorative boxes and put my holiday decorations in them. Then I wouldn't have to store them in a dusty atic or clutter up my garage. And I would always know exactly where they were.

burnt orange isn't a very wicked color for a wicked lady . . .I agree–the cobalt should be black!

I am jealous of your new rocks. I have collected stones, rocks, gems and minerals since I was a kid. I got most of my collection from my uncle who is a geologist. My newest piece is a hunk of salt crystals from the Dead Sea. It's beautiful!
