I totally agree with Eleanor R. here…”Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.” But certain people can make me feel so less than stellar.
I am so proud of myself. I got our household files in order on my day off.
Cats 101 plays on a constant loop in our house. I can tell you all about the Egytpian Mau, the Maine Coon, and the Oriental. What is with my boy and cats?
I still want to make that tart or savory pie.
I found some of my datebooks from my pre-marriage, pre–Beau days. My life revolved around reading, exercising, going out to eat, and generally doing anything I wanted to whenever I wanted. Now my life revolves around “The Wheels on the Bus,” chocolate milk, chasing the boy on the rocks, and drooping eyelids while reading. Not so bad.
I haven’t had a McDonald’s cone all week. Yay for me.
I have been needing to get to the eye doctor for the past month. In the meantime I’ve been wearing my glasses and either I’m getting more used to glasses rather than contacts or my eyes have gotten a little better. I don’t know. All I know is that I don’t like doing my makeup without my contacts.
I’m very excited because my neighborhood just got new garbage bins. And recyling bins. We were recycling in California decades ago. About time Arizona started.
Note to 12- and 15-year-old boys: Do Not Climb On My Roof! Don’t Mess With A House That Has A Mastiff In The Backyard! Don’t Mess With A House That Has Wacko Sami Dog In The Backyard! Serioulsy, yesterday afternoon teenage boys were jumping off our roof while Beau and I were inside minding our own business. Fortunately two sets of neighbors saw what was going on (including “The ‘Burbs” set proving you can’t judge a book by its cover) and called the police. I don’t know what all ensued; I let Shane deal with it. What I do know is that those boys put a damper on my would be lazy Thursday afternoon and evening.
I love surprises…like finding an extra $20 in the bottom of my purse. But I don’t like being surprised. Make sense?
More rain please. The storm last Friday night was lovely. I’d like a repeat, but not until after 10 PM tonight. Thank you.
I’m bound and determined to bring more creativity into my kitchen repetoire. I once was creative. Now I’m not. I will be creative again.
A Gila (heela, not geela) Monster is a huge (1-2 feet long), venomous, and very slow moving lizard that lives in Arizona. I think they are ugly and they give me the creeps and the chills. Beau and I were driving around yesterday and we passed Gila Monster Drive. Why would anyone name a street that? Especially since the neighboring streets were Joy Drive and Airport Drive.
We’re off to watch boys duke it out on the gridiron…Enjoy your weekend!
