It’s Friday evening and this is what I’m thinking…

August 8, 2009

Facing one of your biggest fears makes you look at your life in a whole new light. Talking about your biggest fears brings such comfort.

I love reading and enjoying books that I would not normally pick out on my own.

This has been an emotionally and physically exhausting week. I’m glad it’s wrapping up.

I like busy days.

Laughter is the best medicine sometimes. A lot of the time.

We all need friends we can spill our guts and issues and secrets to.

The wonderful Teri introduced me to this quote and I can’t get it out of my head…”Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back– Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. {W.H. Murray} Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now. {Goethe}” I love it. It’s above my desk at work and my desk at home.

Last night my book group met (okay, just 3 of us gals who love to read and chat and usually do a lot more chatting than book talking) and it was a blast. Therese and Jenny, you and the Red Sage lounge and laughing and crying and laughing again until we were crying were just what the doctor ordered. Thank you!

I’m craving some dinner rolls from Costco. They are sweet, but not too sweet, and so soft. Too bad they only come in bags of 36. Or maybe not too bad…I’d probably be scarfing them down all the time if they didn’t.

I want to train myself to use my 10-key with my left hand. It would make work a lot easier.

I am blessed. I need to remember this.

I would like it if they started making clothes in half sizes, like medium and a half.

As we walked outside this morning both Shane and I commented that it was actually a tad cool. It did not feel warm at 6 AM. Could it be that fall will soon be here? Or is that wishful thinking?

And when fall does arrive I’m going to drive down the road to the Olive Mill (see photo) and enjoy a picnic under the olive trees, close my eyes and relax, and transport myself to Italy.

Does the body follow the mind and heart in healing? I think sometimes yes.

Enjoy your Saturday and Sunday!

First off let me say, I had no idea you were a Sox fan. And I do like you. So the streak has ended. (And I hope I didn't make you mad with my jibs)

I like it when I like a book that I really don't think I'm going to enjoy very much; it's a pleasant surprise.

That was an amazing quote you got from Teri. I think I might have to steal it to use as inspiration. I've had so many instances of providential meetings and occurrences. There has to be some force (some would say God, other people would disagree) that helps those who help themselves.

And yes. A million times yes on the half size clothes. I tried on jeans yesterday and one size was a bit too snug, but the size bigger I could hardly keep up. They do with with shoes, why not clothes?!

I think there is some truth in the body following the mind and the heart. You have to decide you want to get better before you'll get better.

    Hi Lizzie,
It sounds to me, like your heart is a little heavy, or you are stessed or something. Is life getting you down, just a bit?

I enjoy your thoughts so much! Like you didn't know that, lol…

I didn't know there were olive trees in Arizona–I thought they only grew in the Mediterranean. You learn something new every day!

I need half sizes. I hate shopping for clothes cause nothing ever fits right.

I am really withing it was Fall right now. It's getting into the 90's now and the humidity is awful. I'm ready for sweatshirts and open windows again.

Wonderful post! Makes me think and I like that. I think the body does follow the mind and heart in healing, it just takes a very long time. Writing down just the fact that you are Blessed helps you to remember and appreciate.
