It’s Friday evening and this is what I’m thinking…

June 26, 2009

If you have sent me a letter within the last 5 weeks I haven’t forgotten about you. I’ll let you know when to check your mailboxes.

I’m tired of money being tighter than tight. I need to put my revenue increasing cap on. Pronto.

Don’t let your mind give up before your body gives up.

I’ve been kind of quiet this week, but you should hear the thoughts running through my mind.

I have this feeling in my gut that I’m on the precipice of something great. I’m not sure what it is but it’s there.

Walking a fine line is by no means easy.

Two is going to be a hard year.

Sometimes life is more about action than talent.

We (I) took the television out of our bedroom. Now it feels like a peaceful oasis.

Constant: Note to self: It’s only the first 3/4 mile that makes you want to stop. After that it’s smooth sailing. Just run and sweat and don’t think. And while chocolate frosting and cookies taste delicious, do they really taste as good as being thin feels? I think not. And you know how you like wearing your skinny jeans and skirts…

People come into our lives for a variety of reasons. To teach. To show. To reflect. They don’t need to stay in our lives forever. It’s okay to gently push them out to make room for more.

It would be lovely if the gray skies outside meant that it was cool. Alas it only means it is 102 and cloudy.

Before you start pointing fingers and messing up other people’s peaceful existences take a long hard look at yourself and what you’ve got going on.

Flexibility has been on my mind lately…to be flexible emotionally, to be flexible mentally, to be flexible spiritually, and to be flexible physically. After all, blessed are the flexible for they shall not get bent out of shape.

Sometimes I just don’t get organized religion.

Family and business are a hard mix.

You can’t let your life be consumed. And there is so much more to life than consuming material.

Have you ever eaten with your eyes closed? It’s an interesting experience.

I’m so happy it’s Friday. I need to do some mental regrouping and reorganization.

Something is going on in the stars…Things are coming to a head in all sorts of ways.

If you don’t think pineapple is good enough by itself, dip it in melted dark chocolate. Rich decadence.

I’m 3.5 months shy of my 31st birthday and the Dr. Pepper flavored Lip Smacker by Bonne Bell is still a mainstay in my make-up bag. I like that.

Nature is magnificent.

You can’t deny that life is one long ride on The Giant Dipper rollercoaster with detours through The Tunnel Of Love and The Fun House. It’s good…ups and downs and crazy mirrors and all.

Enjoy your last June weekend of 2009!

"People come into our lives for a variety of reasons. To teach. To show. To reflect. They don't need to stay in our lives forever. It's okay to gently push them out to make room for more." — I really need to do some pushing. But I don't want to do it gently!

You don't need to push people out of your life to make room for others. But you do need to take those out of your life that bring a negative vibe to your circle….I don't understand organized religion either….Chocolate Frosting is good in small quantities without keeping you out of those skinny jeans….I used to love being blind-folded and playing the tasting game. What a great experience….the terrible twos aren't as bad as they sound. They also have a lot of good parts too….Thanks for all your thoughts. I had a lot to respond too and would have to more but I don't want to write a book. LOL

I'm feeling the need to regroup too. This week has physically kicked my butt (and otherwise made me tired). I've been quiet too lately. (Overall, I think). Hope you have a good weekend!

Lizzie, you are so insightful. I don't get organized religion either! You don't have to push people out, but you should accept that people do move in and out and sometimes you are just not going to be friends with the person who made you happy 5 years ago.

I use to get sad when I lost touched, but I realized that people lose touch, and you can't do anything about it, and there are always new people to meet.

Money is always tight especially when you are SAHM, but even after I went back to work the kids didn't decided to grow up and college expenses ARE there.

And, yes, JO! I noticed that you have been quiet too. Funny how the bloggers know each other's habits.

    Hope you are feeling better.

Lizzie, keep on dazzling us with the insightfulness.

And, yes TWO is going to be rough, they don't call it terrible for nothing, but there are also so many rewards to reap too, and remember when it gets TERRIBLE, this TWO shall pass. (Pun intended)

I am soooo glad I waited all week to read this! I can't tell you how much your Friday evening posts mean to me. They ALWAYS give me something to think about. There are so many things from this particular post that I want to keep and pull out when I need to!

I'm glad to hear you'll be writing soon. I was a little afraid that maybe I'd said something in my last letter. (I like hearing from you)

Despite how scary it is, I love feeling like on the precipice of something great. I've had that feeling for a while, so I can't wait to get there.

Good thinking taking the TV out of your room. I should try it.

I need to remember the part about running. I shamefully gave up running in the morning. I need to pick it up again because it really is good for me.

Flexibility. I need to remember that.

Hell, I think family is a hard mix.

I hope I can be so young when I'm almost 31.

    Have a great weekend!

Well, didn't you have a lot to say last night Miss Lizzi! I loved it. I always look forward to your thoughts on Friday.

I keep feeling like I'm on the precipice too…not sure if its something great though… 😉

Sometimes I like to gently push people out too..I get what you mean.

Why do people need to point fingers anyways? Ya know?

I don't get organized religion either.

A little clarification…Push out the people who add negativity (intentional or unintentional on their part) to your life, gently or not so gently. The ones who have contributed to our lives and have fulfilled their purpose, let them fly away. That's my thinking at least.

Lori, family is a freakin' hard mix. And I'll keep running if you do!

I know 2 will be bring ton of fun in addition to a certain amount of frustration.

sometimes people are only supposed to be in our lives for a short period of time, and that's okay. you don't need a life time to learn a life lesson.

and i love eating with my eyes closed!

    Lizzi,

I love the edgy look of the red glasses. If I haven't already said that, I've been meaning to.

Second, how far do you run? You said the first 3/4 mile was hard, but after that was smooth sailing…

I refuse to have a TV in my living room. I can't stand the idea of having to see it, first thing when I come home after work. My living room is my quiet little oasis–there are book-lined shelves, works of art lining the walls and cozy couches.

As a believer, I despise organized religion – it really isn't at all what HE had in mind. But, now pineapple and chocolate….that's another story…
