It’s Friday evening and this is what I’m thinking…

May 22, 2009

This 3 day weekend is just what the doctor ordered. But really, they all are.

I’m in the middle of channeling my inner Nancy Drew as I read my latest mystery, so I should have another book under my belt this (long) weekend. That makes three in a month and I still have a week left!

You know how I know it’s Memorial Day? It’s raining. Every Memorial Day weekend growing up we’d go to my grandparents house on Hidden Valley Lake (sans the Ranch) hoping to swim for the first time that season. Every year it rained and we stayed indoors. Apparently AZ is like CA in that respect.

I’m getting my hair cut tomorrow and I’m still not sure what I want…open to your suggestions. Anyway, there goes my plan of growing it out…surprise surprise.

With my newly tanned legs I feel like I’m ready to go out and conquer the world. Or maybe just Uncle Bear’s. Whatever I conquer, watch out!

The AC went out at work today. It was just a tad warm…gray skies and all. Tamye, you’re lucky you weren’t there.

You know you’re an adult when you’re excited to put your new health insurance card in your wallet. Simple pleasures.

Beau has been doing his own American Idol thing lately…singing “Oh Baby Baby” and doing a cheerleader-like hand clapping, arm raising routine. Honestly we’re not sure what he’s singing, but he knows what the lyrics are and the proper tune, and that’s all that’s important. It’s very entertaining.

I’m out of photos today so a smiley face from me to you will have to do.

Menu planning: I’m actually going to do it, not just pretend to do it. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I want a tattoo (not this weekend, but sometime in my lifetime) but don’t know what or where. Such difficult decisions.

I was doing some bloghopping and I may have found the perfect clothes to pack for Iowa (we leave on our great adventure 2 weeks from tomorrow.) Another thing I’ll keep you posted on.

Whether you are traveling or laying low or doing a mix of both, I hope you have a lovely Memorial Day Weekend!

That is crappy about the A/C. Were they able to get someone out today, or did you suffer alone in the heat? That is funny about the Insurance card, because I was excite whne mine came too. I cleaned out my wallet for it!

It’s really all about the simple things and pleasures, isn’t it?!

Remember our troops this weekend, both past and present!

Its raining here too this weekend, isn’t that weird? I’m jealous you have newly tanned legs. I need tan legs too. I better get on that huh? Maybe we should get a tattoo together….I’ve been seriously thinking about a third one lately.

Have a relaxing holiday weekend! I’m ready to get my hair cut off too. The warm weather always temps me to change it to a cute bob or something similar. Post your new do for us!

I love that having tan legs gives you the confidence to “conquer the world”!

Im getting my grandparents nicknames tattoo’d on the top of my foot. My little brother is getting them on his side (rib cage.) We call them Momo and Papa. I think it will be cute and will remind me of how influential they were in my life everytime I look down.

    I want a tattoo, too. I just want one, of maybe a spool of thread…since that's what I do-sew a lot.

The question is also where? Where do we put a mark we have to live with forever?
