If I make it so my eyes focus out on the background it’s almost
like I’m at the beach walking the dunes.
The green in the background isn’t grass, it’s thesea.
The dirt in the forergound isn’t rocky, it’ssoft sand.
Close my eyes and open my ears and the hum of the cars off in the distance is really the crash of the waves. The kids playing football in the park are playing chase on the shore, the water lapping at their feet.
When you focus out on the background what do you see?
Where are you?
I like bees.
They aresoft and sweet but can pack a punch.
Come on over to my house and you’ll see vintage, a lot of vintage.
Not shabby chic fakey vintage from some frou frou shop, but the real deal not from a shop.
And we use our vintage.
These were a wedding present to Grandma E.K. in 1947. Now they serve many purposes:decor, toys, plates, and I’m sure there are many more we just haven’t discovered yet.
This is such a moving post. I so often think that I wish these things could talk. I love old things, the real things my grandma used. I feel her in them, I pretend she's mixing the bread or pouring the water.
When i make my eyes out of focus its an ancient city far off in the background.
I love using the things my grandparents and great-grandparents used. It's a wonderful connection with the people I've loved and the people who loved them.

Wouldn't it be great to see what those items have seen in their lifetime?
