“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” -Plato. That’s the truth.
Football has started at our house. One of my favorite sounds is sports on television.
Before I had Beau I never really thought about kids. I didn’t grow up thinking that I for sure wanted one; kids were more something that you had after you got married because parenthood was the next logical step. I figured I’d always have one or some because why not? I never gave much thought to people who actually chose not to have kids. I didn’t know many, and honestly I couldn’t imagine the childless people I did know actually having kids. But now, with a son, I get those people who choose not to have children. I understand them. Kids become your life, something I never fully understood until one became mine. Please don’t take this me saying I don’t want kids…I do. I love mine and can’t imagine life without him.
Try this: nectarine slices dipped in Hershey’s syrup.

More people need to check the mirror before they leave the house.
I haven’t been roaming around the internet lately and it has been a nice reprieve. There is only so much one can take in.
Life is short.
I started treadmillin’ the c25k program tonight. I love it. Really, I do. Granted I’m only 1/27 of the way through, but so far so good.
Do you read PostSecret? You should.
So I live in Arizona. On the Mexico border. There is a lot of Spanish here. I don’t understand how people who were born and raised here can’t pronounce Spanish words and names. Really, how hard is it?
In my non-internet-roaming time I’ve been doing much reading. In the last 3 weeks I read (and finished) 3 books, and I’m halfway through my 4th. By reading a little each day I’ve been able to filter out things from my life that I don’t want or need. It’s nice.
We rarely eat at McDonald’s. We recently went there for ice cream. Have you been inside one lately? I was shocked…for better and for worse. The decor of ours borders on trendy, chic cafe style. I actually want the lamps and chairs and ottoman-like stools that ours has. But what ours doesn’t have is a play center. Well, actually it does…a video game play center! Like we don’t have enough video/TV/tech entertainment already?
Hey Hey Hey! It’s Wednesday…We’re almost there!

I love the sound of sports on tv, too. Something about it relaxes me. And I also seem to be able to read and watch it together. Perfect combo.
There was a time when I knew I'd have kid(s) – then a time when I was not going to have any – and then voila! Now I'm adament about only having one. It's crazy how things change over time.
Wow…your McDonalds sounds SWEET.

That Plato quote is the truth FOR SURE. Really liked that.
Oh yeah, football has started up for us too! I love it… Brad gets excited to watch his games, I like listening to it while I read on the couch next to him… life is good in football season. LOL
I get your kids paragraph COMPLETELY.
I was just talking about that to my friend the other day… about "waking up" literally and figuratively and just stopping what you've been doing and making a change. And yes it always makes things better. I call those my divine intervention moments.
I've been too busy for hte internet too and it's been nice. It really has.
Good luck on your c25K program, that's great that you're doing that!
Our McD's is super up to date like that too… isn't it cool? Not the video game part though. I agree with you there.
(and I love PostSecret)

We haven't been inside a McDonald's in years but I certainly would have been disappointed as a parent of young children for them not to have a place to blow off steam.
