My book group met this week at Starbucks.
There are 4 of us booklovers who meet every month, or more realistically every 6-8 weeks.
Mostly our meetings consist of dinner or coffee and hours of chatting and laughing.
We usually get around to talking about our chosen book, but not until about half way through.
And even then we revert back to chatting and laughing after 20 minutes or so.
A lot of times I think about everything else I “should” be doing on any given weeknight.
Usually a night out catching up with friends doesn’t fall into that category.
But when I drive home I always feel so much better.
I take comfort in my friends.
What do you take comfort in?

I had my eye on this door sign at Starbucks the entire time we were sitting on the patio. It was hard to photograph well with the glass door and the bright spot lights inside. But I knew I had to do my best. I spent a lot of time in PSE7 playing with it, and a lot of reverting when I wasn’t satisfied. I finally settled on giving it a gritty look with Coffee Shop Photography Rita’s Vintage News action. With darkening the edges more and lightening the center just a tad I was able to tone down the background without losing the great sign.

I just love it! The shot is very moody. So nice to have a book club. Wish I had more time. Here from Love That Shot.

Love the shot!! And the gritty finish. My book club is the same, we spend more time visiting than discussing a book….but its great to have a reason to visit and get together.

You did an excellent job with the edit! Love it!
Isn’t it great to get out and just gab? Too often I pass on that stuff, and do the stuff I’m SUPPOSED to be doing. Not good! because you’re right, you feel so great afterwards.

Sounds like our book club meetings. I’m in charge now and boy is it a chore to keeping the group on task! But I long ago stopped feeling guilty about the night away–the best thing for the rest of my family and me is for me to get a break, if only for once a month.

Beautiful shot and love the processing!!
Enjoy your book club. This book lover would so enjoy one, but doubt it will ever happen.
