Beau on Christmas Wishes

December 13, 2012

Beau: “I want a baby.”
Me: “Like a real baby?”
Beau: “Yes.  A baby is so cute and adorable.”Me: “Oh.”
Beau: “Don’t you want one?”
Me: “Umm… Honestly? No.”
Beau: “Do we have a rocking chair?”
Me: “Yes, it’s downstairs by the Christmas tree.”
Beau: “How much does a rocking chair cost?”
Me: “$200?”
Beau: “Is that expensive?”
Me: “Not too expensive.”
Beau: “Ooh we have to save for one! How much does a baby chair cost?”
Me: “60??”
Beau: “Do we have that much?”
Me: “Yes Beau, we do.  But why do we need a baby chair?”
Beau:  “Do you want Santa to drop the baby off at our house?”
Me: “Beau, we’re not going to have a baby for Christmas.”
Beau: “Let’s order one from Santa…”
Me: “Babies and Santa don’t work like that…”
♥♥♥♥♥
And on and on it went this morning on the way to school.
Santa is bringing Legos. No babies.
{And it’s a good thing Beau doesn’t read this blog.}
{And this is how Beau trims the tree…One branch, multiple bulbs.}

    Well you DO have enough money for a baby chair, so why not!?!?! haha, Beau is so funny.

      Seriously! Fortunately he seems to have forgotten about his wish and is more interested in riding his scooter around the kitchen.

    I’m happy to see tree trimming hasn’t changed over the years since my kids were three feet tall! I can’t tell you how many years our tree was only decorated on the bottom half. I kinda miss that.

    About the baby….hmmm…maybe one of his pets can have a baby!

      The bottom portion of our tree has a different ornament arrangement every few days or so.

      I actually thought about adding a puppy to the family, but I snapped out of it fast.

    Ah, that’s too cute! I miss those conversations. Sadly, they actually get more difficult the older kids get – my middle one likes to discuss religion with me, and he knows more about it than I do!

      I’d have to say I’d rather talk the cost of raising (or at least rocking) a baby than religion!

    Love it! Beau sounds like Kieran, although he wants a dog instead of a baby!
