Most people in the Valley of the Sun have never heard about Gold Canyon (Is that still in the valley?) But living here is pretty darned close to living in a desert paradise…without the oasis. We’re 40 minutes east of Phoenix but we’re truly a world away…No streetlights make for gorgeous evenings for stargazing…Howling packs of coyotes and roaming javelina at night make you realize how close to the moutains…No bustling streets means that you can go for a Sunday drive any day of the week…You are sure to run into someone you know at the store in a one-grocery store town…Sure, it can feel like a trek “going into town” for a nice dinner out, a night at the movies, or a shopping spree but I wouldn’t give up living here for anything! Anyone ready to move down to our neck of the woods?
It’s amazing how much amusement a 13-year-old, 17-year-old, and 32-year-old can find in the same thing! Shane and our two nephews TJ and Derek couldn’t stop laughing at crazy YouTube videos. They were glued to the computer howling with laughter. And, as much as it just wasn’t all that funny to me (just can’t always get guy humor) it was so sweet (I’m sure the guys would cringe at my choice of words) to watch them. I only hope that Beau will have this much fun with Shane when he’s a teenager.
