It’s a Dog’s Life

September 10, 2010

Do you think dogs ever get tired of being with their families?  If one day they wake up and think to themselves “I’m tired of these digs.  I’m outta here”?  I’m seriously beginning to think they do.  Or at least that mine does.  Sami has gone from meek and timid, completely scared of her shadow, to opening the door by herself, racing down the front stoop steps.  Nowadays a cat lurking in the front yard is more than enough to lure her away.  In fact, from what I can tell it doesn’t take much more than the simple breeze to lure her out of the house.  So we’ve had to resort barricading her inside with a file cabinet and full duffle bag in front of the door.  Nice look, huh?

LOL! Oh that is So my dog! Thank goodness we have door knobs, but she even tries to open those. She jumps up and her hind legs and literally tries to turn the knob…she ever gets it open I am NOT chasing her!

I think you have a VERY smart dog who likes a challenge and who, now that he figured out how to open the door, just wants to do it again and again. Now you need to give him other challenges that don’t involve actually leaving the house. Maybe an obstacle course?

She is adorable! Gosh – I can’t get my Ellee far enough away from me to try to run away. Every time I turn around I run into her!
