It’s easy to get a little lost in the universe. For me at least.
Day after day I fumble along doing the 9-5 and the 5-9 and I wonder about my place here.
Sometimes it makes me want to laugh and sometimes it makes me want to cry. Such is life.
And then one day I wake up and realize I’m right where I’m supposed to be.
Right here getting a “how are your windshield wipers?” phone call before
I head into a dust storm on my way home from work.
(By the way, my windshield wipers are way less than stellar.)
Right here gazing out across the fields to my mountain.
Thankful of the day so long ago when I turned down the job offer in DC.
Right here watching my boys make cookies.
Big hands helping the little ones.
Rolling my eyes in laughter (and sometimes exasperation.)
Right here with a crazy dog who loves to lounge in front of the stove when I’m cooking.
Who howls when Beau cries. Who demands to be petted around the clock.
Who is naughty as much as she is sweet.

I couldn’t agree more. I look back sometimes now at the things I was bummed out about not coming to pass and realize that if they HAD, I wouldn’t be where I am or have what I have now. And those things? Are pretty darn fabulous.
