When the weather hits that sweet spot it’s time to get out of the house.
Tonight I decided it was the perfect evening for us to get a bite to eat at Joe’s Farm Grill.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed, and you can wander around the orange trees,
play in the grass, and put your feet up.
And I’ve been craving the Fontina Burger for awhile.
If I had my druthers I think I’d live in Agritopia -
darling, non-desert-earth tone-stucco houses, a community garden,
and you can walk or ride your bike to Joe’s!
Flanking one side of Joe’s is a small but lush grove of orange trees.
Right now they are heavy with blossoms and oranges are playing peek-a-boo in the branches.
Give me a blanket and a good book to read, or friends to chat with,
and I think I could easily spend the entire day out there.
The whole area smells so sweet. I love it!
The Johnston family, who started and owns Joe’s, converted their old farm home into the restaurant.
It’s got a great feel and look to it. Cozy but open.
And the food…farm fresh, local, flavorful. Yum.
If you want something sweet to eat,
but if you’re like us and don’t want to wait in line for a homemade milkshake,
the thing to do is to walk over next door to The Coffee Shop for a sweet treat.
This coconut-almond whoopie pie was sinfully delicious.
And I hear the lemon whoopie pie was just as good.
And you need a cold Coke in a glass bottle to wash it down.
Here’s the place to kick back in cushy patio furniture,
surrounded by big blooming roses, and relax the day away.
Life is good!
By the time we headed back to the car it was almost 7:30 PM and Joe’s was still hopping.
The picnic tables outside were filling up again and the line was out the door.
Not just an A evening…An A+ Evening!

What a great place!!! I loved this post…… and I miss the orange blossom smell. Really miss it. I love being around the orchards in Fresno when i go home to visit.

I’m so jealous – your place looks so much more enjoyable than mine was! I need a Joe’s Farm Grill in my neighborhood!
