Messages, Corn, & Movies { My Wednesday Thoughts }

June 13, 2012

This is what happens when Beau and I are left to our own devices. One of us makes a shaving cream mess. The other one of us writes messages in said mess.

Finally got to watch Bridesmaids. It was slow going with lots of pausing and took 2 days, but it’s checked off my list.  Yay.

I wonder why I think my legs will actually become golden. Once upon a time they were…

A good time is reading old blog posts with Beau. It’s a little trip back in time. Especially since his baby book is pretty much non-existent.

Costco on the way home, all by myself… close to paradise. (And please tell me dear Costco, how it is that I go in for a $3.99 bag of lettuce and I walk out of there $137.00 later.)

Corn is coming up now. I’m so used to seeing cotton in these fields that the corn looks a bit foreign.

It’s a hard thing to realize some people aren’t who you think they are. (And not in a small way.} And maybe they never really were who you thought they were. And in the end you are left wondering what you do with your shared past because you can’t figure out how much was reality and how much was a fabrication. And finally you are left wondering if any of it matters.

“Live, travel, adventure, bless, and don’t be sorry.”{Jack Kerouac} This is it.

It’s good to read books you normally wouldn’t pick up. Even better to read those books along with great friends.

Anyone else fascinated with and intrigued by American Gypsy weddings like I am?

This week’s musical obsessions… “Rocky Mountain Way” by Godsmack and “Hell on Heels” by Pistol Annies.

Beau: “It’s hot out.” Me: “Yes it’s super hot outside.” {108 to be exact.} Beau: “When is it going to be normal again?” Me: “This is our normal Beau.”

Happy almost weekend to you!

    When left to my own devices, I usually start doing song parodies. I miss having the time to cultivate a tan. (I know it’s not healthy, but I really think I came from a time when the sun WAS healthy) I’m the same way about going into a store for one or two things and coming out over $100 later. I think it’s a girl thing like 84,000 channels is a guy thing. What a lovely quote! I love when you do posts like this. Hope you have a lovely Thursday!

    I think I should just hand them a $100 when I walk through the doors at Costco…then when I check out they can tell me how much I went over. I briefly watched American Gypsy Weddings the other night…I wanted to be a Gypsy when I was young. I think it was because of that Cher song…I wanted to be exotic and mysterious. I absolutely LOVE Godsmack’s Rocky Mountain High!!! Speaking of that I should iTunes it right now!

    One of the things I miss here in NYC is sitting beside a swimming pool. If the temperature was 108, I wouldn’t be out there anyway — but one of my favorite things to do is to float around in a pool chair with a book and a soda.
